1920s Vintage Colorful Carnival Chalkware Prize Figurine Pony Standing With Head Turned. A colorful antique about 6.75" tall figural carnival chalk ware or chalkware figurine. The figure is cast in the form of a cute pony or horse standing on all four legs and having this neck turned to the side. The pony's ears are perked up and are colored in red on the inside and white on the outside. The pony is colored in yellow with black to highlight his hoofs, tail, mane, his eyes and his nostrils. These figurines were cast from plaster and colored with such vivid and garish colors. They were haded out as prized in carnivals in the 1920s and 1930s. Most have been broken or lost over the years and finding them in good condition is becoming more and more difficult. There is a small chip missing out of the ear as you can see in the picture. Small defects on the body, but no major chips or cracks that detract from the beauty. It is 100 years old! Unbelievable!
